Aromatherapy Oil: Pampering Yourself the Right Way
Everyone needs to escape once in awhile. Picture coming home
after a long day at work and needing a little time to yourself.
You light a few candles, maybe play some soft jazz and indulge
in some take-out, or chocolate. The only thing missing is your
aromatherapy oil. So you pull out the aromatherapy oil and
lightly mist the fragrance onto your skin. Immediately you feel
relaxed, and ready to end the night right.
Sure, it may sound like a clichéd scene for self-indulgence.
But, most of us are overworked, and just plain tired. We need
to relax, and rejuvenate our bodies and minds. One of the best
ways of doing this is using a soothing substance such as
aromatherapy oil to calm our senses.
Aromatherapy relies greatly on essential oils. The thought
is that these oils that are extracted from plants can help in
the production of good moods and improved thoughts. They can
also help in the founding of physical wellness. If you are
hurt, you can often find help in the use of aromatherapy. Yet,
how this works is quite amazing. Through the smell of these
oils, your body triggers healing, it helps to improve the mind,
and it can help to improve your mood as well. And, believe it
or not, aromatherapy is scientifically
proven.
Tangerine Essential Oil: An orange mobile liquid with a
fresh, sweet, orange-like aroma. It has less body than
mandarin oil and is used less in perfumery. Use in massage
oil to break down cellulite and pockets of fat while
helping to stimulate drainage of the lymphatic system.
Lavender Essential Oil: The oil is a colorless to pale
yellow liquid with a sweet, floral-herbaceous scent and
balsamic-woody undertone. It is used as a fixative in
perfumery and blends well with most essential oils. Use
primarily for healing burns, sunburns, and some infected
wounds. Can also be used for headaches by inhalation and
applying to the temples.
Ginger Essential Oil: A pale yellow, amber or greenish
liquid with a warm, slightly green, fresh, woody-spicy,
sometimes nutty, scent. It blends well with sandalwood,
vetiver, patchouli, frankincense, rosewood, cedarwood,
coriander seed, rose, lime, neroli, orange and other
citrus oils. Use for arthritis or rheumatism. Can also be
used to "warm" the body when added to a massage oil.
Variable Usages
It isn’t all about self-indulgence. If you want to make your
partner feel as good as you do, then take a night and relax
each other with aromatherapy oil. The scent of the oil,
plus the touch from your loved one will definitely make for
an enchanting evening. Aromatherapy oil is also good if you
have an aching muscle and don’t want to breathe in the
unpleasant smell of ointments. It will soak into your skin,
and leave a refreshing feeling in the end.
You don’t have to go away on vacation to relax. You can as
easily do it in your own home by pulling out a bottle of
aromatherapy oil and spritzing it on
your skin, letting the oils soak into your skin. It is also
a way to bring you and your significant other together,
physically and mentally. So let the drone of the day fade,
and slip into tranquility with your favorite bottle of
aromatherapy oil.
